Farm Chicks 2013

Another wonderful year at The Farm Chicks has come and gone. It never disappoints!

The four of us have such a good time together. I am so blessed to call these wonderful ladies "friends". They are fun, loving, lovely and Godly women. It's hard to decide which is more fun...the show or the trip back and forth!

We had such a wonderful time going to Spokane. Lots of laughs, lots of stories, lots and lots of prayer. We all have something (s) on our hearts that is causing us worry or pain or fear and these women all step right up and start praying mid-conversation, turning everything over to the One that heals all our pain. I'm so thankful for these amazing ladies!

As soon as we cross the mountains into Eastern Washington, you can't help but notice how big the sky is! I think I take a picture like this every time I go over there!!! Such beauty ~ such magnificence!

We had some stories to share along the way, and while one person got this sign, it applied to all of us. We are virtuous women, we are!

We went to our favorite place, Maggie's South Hill Grill, for dinner on Friday night. The food there is so amazing! A butternut squash soup to die for, delectable salads, and this divine artichoke dip, that was worthy of a picture!

If you are ever in Spokane, you must have a meal there!

We got up quite early, as there was not an early ticket option this year. Got to the Fairgrounds at about 7 am, but the line was quite short. Lynda and I went back to the hotel while Terry and Karen waited in line. Went back for our stitcheries so we could work on something for the next two hours!

Our traditional pictures ~ a little chalk art and the feet!

The bracelets !

Special thanks to Grandiflora for giving me tickets for both days of the show!

 Ready to shop!

Paint in my Hair booth ~

Adorable signage~

Adorable lights ~

Really cute displays ~

 These lovely ladies ~

Love this sign ~

Great lighting ideas ~

I see these ladies every year and had to inquire. I usually see them doing this on Sunday morning.

Every year they attend with their friends. At 1:00 on Saturday they have a little tailgate lunch. On Saturday they have a tailgate breakfast. Such a sweet idea !

Beautiful display, and they were just getting started !

We left the show around 12:30 and went for lunch. Terry had lunch with a friend, while the rest of us had a quick lunch together.  Then we went to downtown Spokane for a little shopping. I wanted to take the girls to "Pink Salvage Gallery", a really great shop. I love the ladies there! They were so sweet and helpful and a fount of information!

A few of the things I really liked ~

Great signage !

We also went to the  "Two Women" antique store. I actually ran into an old friend there. Jennifer and I went all through school together. Should have taken a picture !

Saw a neat graphic on a wall at a business. Karen owns a lab and I am hoping she does something like this at her place !

We had such fun !!! Went to Chaps to have dinner, but in the end decided to go back to Maggie's ! We weren't disappointed!

I also got to spend a little time with my new great nephew, who is utterly adorable !  Next post !

Here are a few of my treasures from the show ~

I got some old yard tools and really neat vintage hand cart that are sitting outside, but this was mostly it! The pots are planted, the clipboard is hanging, the shirt is in the closet and the ice cream maker is sitting on the porch !

Looking forward to next year!

And the Tradition Continues~

Pie Party 2012  is over and done with, but the memories linger forever! I am so blessed to count these lovely ladies as my friends. We do our annual Farm Chick trip together and also Lynda's annual pie party. You can see our previous parties here and here, and also here. Lynda was made to host parties as she is the very best!!!

As usual, the table setting was divine! Those little gingham napkins and the lovely gift awaiting each of us!

A gloriously set table~

And the dearest of friends~Karen, Lynda and Terry.

There was a delicious sausage, potato soup, homemade rolls and a wonderful salad...not many leftovers!

There is much laughter...and a few tears, as our hearts are always sharing~

Miss Terry brought me a lovely, little gift~

The most adorable Hallmark ornament ever made!

Can't wait to put it on my tree! Still dreaming about the full sized addition!

We played a rousing game of Autumn Pictionary!

Isn't Lynda adorable?!!!

Karen was the winner and went home with a lovely prize!

As we do every year, we all brought pie...isn't this just the best party idea?! Terry and I thought alike and brought Rustic Apple pies...I used the Pioneer Woman's recipe from her cookbook. Terry's had a little "accident" on the way in, but tasted delicious. Karen made a fabulous Blackberry Pie, and Lynda made a "to die for" Butterscotch Meringue Pie, Everything was so YUMMY!! We all share and take home some of everyone else's pies.

We all worked on our traditional fall stitcherie's that Lynda put together, but I forgot to take a picture of that. Instead I took one of what Lynda is working on now. Isn't it cute? I want to make it too!

Thank you Lynda, for bringing us together once again. This is such a fun tradition...one we look forward too all year!

I'm so thankful for dear friends!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Farm Chicks 2012, Part Two

I remembered to take my camera back to the show on Sunday!! Thought I'd share some of the booths, and fun and of course, what I did with some of my goodies!!

Miss Betty, in all her goodness and cute outfits, brought us juice to start our morning! She is using one of her new purchases as a tray. What a love she is!

A little photo op before the doors open. In order, with our weekend names...Millie, Barley, Peppy Ally and Betty. Have I mentioned how much fun we have together? So thankful for these delightful, God-loving women!

I loved this booth, and of course when sister's are running it you know it's going to be good! There furniture was so beautiful and they were so kind and sweet!

I really, really wanted this dresser, but one, had no room, and two, I didn't need it! But boy, did I like it!

Just a cute, darling little display...

and another one...

I always love Junebug's booth. So clever and full of fun stuff!!

Can't remember the name of this booth, but these lights are little mason jars re-wired for lights...adorable!

Lot's of cute buntings this year. This one was just paper twisted and tied on a string...very cute!

Love the bunting!

The end of the day, getting ready to head out.
So glad I wanted a picture because I had left my camera in a booth and wouldn't have realized it while we were still there.

One of my finds of the day! Wish it fit!!

I have a little beach display on my back porch and when I saw the swimsuit I thought it would look really cute with the other stuff. Got the ice cream maker set out there too...perfect color!

I got the life jacket at the Ruffles and Rust show a few weeks earlier. I've never seen one like this. We always had the ugly orange ones!

Got these green, Bakelite domino's on the way over...great color!

Some old letters from WW2. I was hoping there were love letters in there, but they were letters from the soldier to his parents! Very sweet!

The first thing I bought, this amazing chalkboard sign! Need to have hubby come up with a way to hang it! It's been so cold here lately that soup is definitely on the menu!

My second purchase, this awesome dough bowl! I've been wanting one of these for  a long time!!

Something I saw on Sunday that I hadn't seen and loved, were these pillow covers. Canvas with vintage inlays. I had two inserts at home that fit perfectly. Finally, some progress in the bedroom re-do!

Another amazing year with amazing friends! I am so blessed!!!
